Work History

Cadence Design Systems, 1996 – 2005

·   defined and managed millions of dollars worth of SI consulting projects in the areas of signal integrity simulation methodology and new high-speed technology definition; advised over eighty companies regarding SI process improvements

·   integral to the propagation of SPECCTRAQuest and the Allegro SI suite of high-speed PCB tools helping marketshare and revenue to quadruple; oversaw aspects of product definition, customer interfacing, technical marketing, product marketing, software development, testing, and training

·   developed high-speed PCB design kits for Intel processors, PCI Express, and SerDes ICs

Intel Corporation, 1989 – 1996

·   founded and managed the first Signal Integrity Engineering group for the desktop PC chipset division responsible for resolving high-speed design issues for 10 Intel Architecture platforms, including front-side, memory, and graphics busses and the original Pentium-based PC

·   originated and automated SI processes for the entire chipset design cycle covering product concept/definition to product shipment for devices that ramped to millions of units including:  defining industry switching standards, IO buffer definition, IBIS model creation and validation, solution space derivation, pre-route analysis, post-route analysis, OEM layout guidelines, silicon correlation, and post-hardware analog inspection

Systems Companies (Hewlett-Packard, Digital Sounds, Motion Control), 1985 – 1989

·   designed and transitioned into manufacturing various high-speed digital components and systems, including hot-swap backplanes, voicemail and voice-based digital products
